Welcome to The Physics Lab

We are a full service, Edmonton recording studio that specializes in recording, mixing, and mastering music.

Thank you very much for visiting our site. Many of the bands we have worked with have charted on mainstream radio, and signed major recording and touring deals based on the strength of their recordings here. Some of the labels we've worked with include Relapse, Napalm, Stomp, Island, and Killer Metal Records.

Please take a moment to browse through the songs in our player. If you would like to hear more of a specific band or genre please feel free to contact us. To schedule a visit give us a call at 780-709-7497 or email us at thephysicslab@gmail.com.

The Studio

The Control Room

The control room was designed and tested to make an accurate listening environment suitable for mixing and mastering. The room is based off of M. Louden's best ratio 1 : 1.4 : 1.9 and offers great modal distribution down to 40hz 1/3 octave band. Our monitors are Adam A77X, Adam P11, Tannoy system 600, and Yamaha NS10. Preamps include a selection from SSL, Seventh Circle Audio, Audient, and Line Audio.

The Live Room

The live room has 17ft ceilings with lots of natural light. It includes 2 main floor isolation booths, and a third upstairs with a window to the main floor. The room is great for recording big natural drum sounds and can easily accommodate a full live band. Most of the songs in our music player feature totally live, natural drums without the use of samples.

About our Billing

At The Physics Lab you won't be billed for down time. When we eat lunch, stop for coffee, or just run out of gas, you are not on the clock. When you recieve your bill it will be fair and most often under your budget. The way you are billed for your record is fully transparent and honest, and we are very sensitive to your budget constraints.
